Health is wealth II

just got call from alex. his elder sister you in hospital.....cos not feeling well. but overall ok. his 2nd sister did a treadmill test and 80% chances of getting blockage. so doctor advice her to go for endrogramme. result came out, blockage was about 10%. no surgery needed. just take care food intake.

alex will still be in malaka tonite. taking care of his eldest sis.all good, will be back by tomorrow.

Health is wealth

last Saturday 21 june, alex went back to home town segamat to celebrate his mom's birthday. mom actuall birthday was actually yesterday 24 june. but alex decided to go back earlier. i stay in KLas i was having a meeting with the team.

i notice 3 missed called from my HP after meeting.all from alex. only then i found out alex brother of 39 years old, ( not his twin brother) passed away suddenly - heart attack. all 4 chamber is blocked.

so he has to stay back in segamat, for the pass few days, alex have been driving from segamat to tangkak, to nilai, then back to segamat.

he is suppose to come back today from segamat as the funeral ceremony is over. but yesterday night his sister High BP........so have to drive 2 hr from segamat to melaka hospital........he is still in melaka now.........his sister will be doing CT scan and test.

alex will come back to KL for his check up as last time when he did he medical check up(yearly), he has LVH- left ventricular hypertrophy. which is very common on athletic and small frame people or you will have LVH if you have High BP. but for alex, it is the athletic case. which means he needs to do less classes and more rest:)

today's round up - 18/6/08

we decided not to have lunch in Pavilion as the parking is really $$$. So on our way back to jaya33, we stop by at Mid Valley purple cane restaurant for veg meal.

Fried Eggplant

Monk Vegetable

Peanut paste - alex loves it.

today is the 15th day of the lunar calender. so on our way back from pavilion to jaya33, we stop by at tien hou temple for a short 20 mins. donate some money and pray for blessing . our blessing are put inside these small compartment.

while at Mid VAlley for lunch, alex says he wants to stop by @ nike shop. and end up, we each bought a shoe! i got this orange color nike rejuve8. its a olympic version shoe.....thats the main reason i buy. its a want. not a need. i knew that:) the last time i bought shoe was about 8 months ago. and after that, i got 3 pairs of NIKE shoes for free.

alex bought his 2nd pair of NIKE Air Max MOTO+5 running shoe. why 2nd pair? because his dad borrow and wear the first pair for a jog, felt in love with it, and took it from him, it was just 3 days ago.....fathers day.....alex cannot reject:) although abit sakit hati because this shoe cost RM375 per pair and his first pair was only 2 month old. if you are into running, this highly recomended.

i realise its been awhile i did not climb......with my stella Mc Cartney climbing shoe i bought in KLCC about 1 year back. Cost me RM500 ++ but........its on 70% discount! last 2 pairs. so i got 1:) only cost me RM150.

After class in Jaya33, we settle for DInner at Vietnam Kitchen for Vegetarian Hor Fun and six treasure drink

and......before bed..... Blue Berry:)

Amazing!

Look a like?

Freeganism

i was watching oprah. todays episode is about a small population of Amearican (even professionals like doctors and engineer) leaving a Freegan Lifestyle.

According to the Oprah show and Lisa Ling, Freegan is a combination of the word free and vegan and the Freegan movement is "people around the world who are trying to eliminate waste basically by surviving off of food that is thrown away...sometimes literally into the trash."

they will go thru grocery shop's trash, to look for food that is thrown away, but can still be eaten. Or food that will expired in days.

frightening statistics on the amount of food wasted in the United States each year. It is estimated that 30 billion dollars of food is thrown away each year in the US or 2-3% of what grocery stores bring in to sell - enough to feed another country on the waste. America is only 5% of the world's population, but consumes 30% of the earth's resources.

Madeline( a freegan) shared that the decision to follow a freegan lifestyle took her about 6 months. She explained that it was a process for her to realize how much consumerism is driven my corporations push for people to constantly buy new things. people are slaves to buying things.the more people buy, the more we want - so we work extra hard to buy more and more things. Freegans are trying to turn their back on consumerism and live with less

i like what oprah says: how much things did we buy, just to feed our ego. How much do we actually need.

Life is like a box of chocolates

Alex was craving for steaks since yesterday. so i suggest we try Bubba Gump Shrimp Co Restaurant @ The Curve. i saw an article about BUbba Gump on The Star Paper yesterday, the review was so so only. but, adrian says its good. so, it is best to give a try myself......and......yeah! it was good!

Adrian ask us to look for seats inside as the ambiance is better. so i call to make a booking first.as you walk in, you can see lots of old wood being used for its restaurant design. warm and down to earth. You can also see lots of Forest Gump toys and Gumpisms hanging on the wall.there's also a red and a blue plates on the table. The blue plate reads “Run, Forrest, Run”, When you want service, flip this over to show the red sign, “Stop, Forrest, Stop”. lastly, drinks menu is a ping-pong paddle chained to the table and a bucket filled with sauces.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co restaurant is inspired by the 1994 Tom Hanks film, Forrest Gump. Makes me wants to watch this movie again. such an inspiring movie. and shits happens in live......NEVER GIVE UP!

Alex Gump.....

Alex ordered New York Steak RM55.90

i go for Bourbon Street Baramundi RM29.90 - fish is marinated with Cajun spices and grilled, served with mashed red potatoes and a creamy sauce.

Adrian warn us that their onion rings is ichiban....so i had one since alex's steak comes with 2 onion rings. after trying it.......we ordered a tower of oinio rings! RM14.90. cannot finish...so tapau for dinner.

alex was craving for TGIF Mud Pie......so i suggest we try BUbba Gump's Alabama Mud Pie RM19.90. dont know why the menu put RM21.90. so filling!!!!!!

other to try dish in Bubba Gump:Shrimper’s Heaven (RM44.90, a combo of coconut shrimp, chili shrimp, fried shrimp, tempura shrimp and fries),

The Chocolate Chip Cookie Sundae (RM13.90) is worth a try. The cookie base is freshly baked in a small skillet and served with a topping of vanilla ice cream, caramel, chocolate, peanuts and whipped cream

Also from NST review, you might want to try:

I’m Stuffed Shrimp (RM38.90). The extra large shrimps are stuffed with crabmeat and baked in garlic butter. A topping of Monterey Jack cheese gives it an irresistible aroma. It’s served with rice.

Bubba’s Shrimp Specials where choices include Shrimpin’ Dippin’ Broth (RM38.90, shrimp in broth with rice

There’s Popcorn Shrimp (RM16.90), served on paper in a bucket. As is the Run Across America Sampler (RM42.90), which is a combination of five types of appetisers. This is a good way to test out the various appetisers. Chilled shrimps are poached with shells. Use your fingers to peel them. After all, the homey-feel of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co inspires that kind of familiar, intimate dining.

Calamari Rings (RM17.90), Onion Rings (RM14.90) and Old Fashioned Clam Chowder (RM8.90 for a cup). The Tossed Chicken Cobb (RM24.90) is a huge serving of salad greens with grilled chicken, avocado, roma tomatoes, hard-boiled egg, beef bacon and gorgonzola cheese tossed with a really delicious raspberry vinaigrette.

Cajun Shrimps (RM20.90). The shrimps, shelled but with tails intact, are sauteed in a butter sauce spiced up with hot Cajun spices. Just add a squeeze of lemon. Garlic bread is provided for dipping up the hot sauce.

Dumb Luck Coconut Shrimp (RM38.90, served with Cajun marmalade) and Chipotle Shrimp (RM36.90, shrimp in creamy parmesan chipotle sauce with rice and garlic bread).

Accidental Fish And Shrimp (RM34.90) where you get broiled baramundi fish and sauteed shrimp on a bed of rice

Bubba’s After The Storm Bucket of Boat Trash (RM42.90). Also a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co signature dish, you get deepfried shrimp with deepfried slipper lobster tails and grilled baramundi in a bucket. There’s plenty of fries for company too.

slow-roasted, tender BBQ Beef Back Ribs (RM58.90) served with fries and coleslaw. It’s a huge portion, so you may want to share.

That Chocolate Thing (RM16.90) — warm flourless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and raspberry sauce.

Lastly, i brought this NIke Dress . yes.....dress......still NIKE:P like it alot and its been months i dint buy clothes:)
