Garibladi Bangsar Village I

voted kl time out magazine best italian retaurant for 2012 makes me curious to try out their dishes. downstairs at Garibaldi bar serve slightly cheaper food and also pizza. upstairs at the restaurant you have more pricy meals and truffels. i do enjoy the cozy environment upstairs especially the unique lighting as seen in the above picture.
complimentary bread stick. was normal.  did not get to pour the vinegar and olive oil as when we ask for a plate, one of the senior crew said wait for the bread to come there is vinegar there. something like that i assume. he is an italian so i cant quite understand his english.

complimentary bread. bread was just okay for me. not as amazing as favola spicy bread. balsamic vinegar was not strong enough for my liking.

complimetary salmon tatar was nice. i enjoyed this one

generally pasta here was priced slightly cheaper than il lido and Favola.  above is  Gnocchi - potato dumplings with walnut and gorgonzola cheese sauce. was pleasant.

veal ravioli with porcini mushroom cream sauce does not look appetizing. veal and mushroom sauce taste fine but pasta had a harder texture. i enjoy favola pasta the most as its chewy and tender. as for il lido, only pasta made by chef andre is excellent.

tender loin beef with baked stuffed roma tomato and eggplant puree was nice. i enjoyed the sunflower seed  complimentaing the beef

at last it was tiramisu. i had to battle to order this dish. first the italian crew did not allow me to order. so its like a custom we need to finish our main course first then only order dessert. iw anted to order earlier as i dont want to keep thinking about it, or just incase it ran out of stock and the fact that it was close to "last order" timing, i did not want to miss it. the crew insist i cannot order, untill i insist letting me place an order first:P.  this one is best for the night. must have.

Komugi Mid Valley

stumble upon this newly open pastry shop, a franchise originally from japan i suppose. interesting seelction of pastry but operation was just messy at the cashier. hope they inprove soon.

selection at cakes section

cheese toast is nice. crispy on the side of the bread, fluffy soft on the bread, and creamy rich cheese on the inside. recommened

non alchocol tiramisu was normal. like any other decent tiramisu available. no compplain yet nothing to shout about

crema. pastry was crispy and thin. cream is fresh.

there were a couple of different selection such as apple, mango for this range. looking colorful on the outside, i choose pumkin. it was not good. bread was rough , feels like its been there for 2 days. pumkin fillings was notrmal

half baked cheese cake is recomended. fluffy , tasty and rich. recommended

i dont quite remember this sponge cake name but its one of komugi's signature. i think its call chocosand? this chocolate version is really delicious and not too sweet at all. must have.

green tea was a tad too sweet

dont remember the name but i start with Maro and nuts i think. sorry about that but it was good. especially after toast.
garlic bread, cranberry lemon bread, red velvet bread amd tomato bread. tomato bread is excellent.

Bistro a Table - Section 17

heard alot obout this place, decided to give it a try today. serving French food by talented Isadora Chai. which holds degree in markeiting, bio chemical and bio technology.

interior is cozy

simple but classy and comfortable

first entree to come was signature coddled egg with maple syrup, courton dust and fleur de sel. special savory and sweet

mushroom risotto with truffle and cheese was delicious. rice was purposely made to be a little harder than risotto from other restautant. a nust have

Cannelloni of seared scallops & school prawns in lobster bisque & Indonesian black nut tapenade from bistro a table was nicely present but not my fav. Felt that its somehow not fresh. Don't take my words , cos maybe I just don't like the taste .

another must have but only available after 9.30pm and needs about 27min. ( as they only have 1 oven) , i was lucky , need nto wait till 9.30pm as there was not much customers today . Ode to Newton is a candied ginger souffle served with pure tahitian vanilla bean creme anglaise with an accompaniment of warm ginger beer and cinnamon & nutmeg ice cream on a lemongrass ice hemisphere. this dessert plays on the oscillation between antti gravity and graviti.

as you eat the gravity defying light souffle, the warm ginger beer gradually melts the ice hemisphere. thus by the time you have finished eating your warm dessert, the cold componentsitting on the glass would have fallen into the beer(gravity). and the ice cream quickly floats to the top of the liquid(anti gravity) to form an updated ginger beer spider float:)
