Ichiban Boshi. Italiane Kitchen and See you next year!

so its the last day of 2008. so we decided to treat ourself lunch at Ichiban Boshi Pavilion. we both ordered Saba fish set. RM22.90 worth it. FIsh was really good.additional order by Alex. RM2.90 per fish.

what is famous in ichiban Boshi is their handmade soba. will try that next time. we watch the whole process and its not easy.

Dinner was at D'italiane Kitchen at jaya33 . we ordered our usual pasta ,mushroom soup and zabaglione.

can hear fireworks as i am typing. its going to be 2009 in 30 minutes time. counting down at home. not going anywhere. dont want to get stuck in the jam. i am happy for things that i have and achieve in year 2008 , thank you all my family, my loves one, my friends , all members of team GX for your understanding, help , love , support and wishes. i am certainly looking forward to a better, happier and healthier 2009!

New Year Eve Gathering at True Fitness HQ

2 weeks ago the management level staff and HQ Staff are asked to purchase are assign to purchase 1 present (not less then Rm10) to another staff that was randomly pick . and the present was put under the xmas tree as below. today is the day where we all gather, have some food and sparkling juice and open our gift.We also had a small lucky draw session on our "Be My Guest"Campaign where our office director draw out the winning ticket. 1 of our lucky guest and member wins RM2000 each and one of our front desk won RM1000.

we also had cake cutting ceremony for december birthday babies.

EL RANCHO - USJ 1

todays diner is at El Rancho steamboat buffet USJ 1.Just Beside Summit USJ's back lane. its sad that business was not good at all if compare to sunway mentari steamboat "Yuen". not sure why, maybe fung shui? previously, before this steamboat shop, it was food court and then it was western food. but both close down. i hope this place can sustain. actually their food choice is similar to most steamboat buffet restaurant. plenty of tables and ample space. service was friendly too! we arrive at 5pm , we are the earliest. then at 6.30 another couple arrive. by 6.45, another family arrive. so at 7pm, there was only 3 table occupied including us.

grilled stingray on the house. but was not tasty, too salty.

Pappa Rich Taipan

Pappa RIch has made its debut in Taipan i think on christmas eve. so we head there for lunch today. i first try pappa rich at its pj branch during simone's bday.

place was fully packed.i ordered wholemeal bread with kaya and butter(rm3.80), the bread was good. kaya and butter normal. nothing to shout about. alex ordered peanut butter bread(rm3.80), peanut was good. bread was not.he also ordered white coffee.(rm3.50)......it was HORRIBLE! it was like drinking plain water. so we asked the waiter to change another cup for us, result was just slightly better. kopitiam coffee tasted better. as you can see in the picture the coffee looks not " gau".

alex also had NAsi Lemak. hrm, was ok.(rm8.90)
i went for hor fun with foo chok. was ok. i thought is wat expensive selling at RM8.90. similar dish at kopitiam was only RM6.50 right? with tax included.

well, cendol(rm4.50) did not dissapoint us. i think mom would like it. their gula melaka was good.

if compare, i would rather eat noddles at agefuku(opposite papparich taipan), which is what i had for dinner last night, below picture is a Rm9 Reimen i orderd. with no tax charged.

and oh this, my first time trying, just like real mango! try it!

Boxing day at cousin Yee Mei's

SO it was another xmas well spend with families members. for a couple of years now i will surely head to cousin yee mei's house for xmas gathering. from a small home cooked dinner gathering in their previous D'Utama house to now a catering mega gathering of 70 guest at their Tropicana Indah house. First thing cousin yee mei said to me when i got there was :"your mom would be happy to be here."awwwwww........well, soon, during CNY mom will be coming back from Florida. and thank you for inviting us on every occassion.

the caterer was Banana Cafe Catering (0379833022) it was own by famous designer Zang Toi family. good food, great deco and love their banana chocolate cake which you can get in Zang Toi cafe as well. 3 times in a row now the caterer was Banana Cafe and i never get bored with it. i do love their deco very much.

Alex love watching this lil fountain with koi fish swimming freely. untill an aunt stand beside him and said:"wow, these fish are so big and juicy, best serve with soya sauce!" OMG, since when do we eat Koi fish?hehe

so after some chit chat and foose ball,dinner starts

oh and we had a whole roast lamb! i ask cynthia to replace by BP this evening so i could reach there on time for this.....hehe, anyway i had just 3 small slice.

and christmas carol singing by my niece michelle (3rd from right) and friends. and tommy ( 3rd from left) is TF Taipan member, he joined by Bp classes, and we also meet JAcky, which is Jaya33 member and also happens to be cousin yee mei's neighbour.
and oh......these 2 shirt are my xmas pressie! from Cousin yee mei and family(su-anne,ju-han and uncle brian), and also aunty ai chin! love it love it love it! speaking of my niece su-anne she is now working with United nation High Commission Refugee ( UNHCR) . she studied Law in UK Sheffield Uni and now is a protection officer with UNHCR. i am really proud of her. and also my other niece michelle which did psychology and her sister Mandy which is 3 years away from being a Physiotherapist. i think these gurls are gonna do great in da future.

Agefuku Restaurant for christmas!

Initially we planned to have lunch at Tony Romas SUnway pyramid, but the traffic was so bad that we cannot get a parking for almost 1hour , even the jockey parking was full. feeling a little but upset, i suggest we just head straight back to Taipan. i suppose all the other major shopping complex was also un -accessible. so we stop at Agefuku - Taipan, as its about 3.45pm when we arrive, there is only a table of customers. we went in without much expectation and mood. but it turn out well! the food was good and the price is affordable. service was good because the other table of customers left and da whole place as occupied by only myself and alex. hehe, so first class service. and how much did alex spent on this meal? Only Rm26 for both of us! and no tax charged!we left feeling satisfy and happy:) Will be back again.alex ordered Yakiniku Burger aka Pork belly meat. he claim that this is one of the best food he ate during year 2008. no commend from me, i am not a fan. RM8i go for wakame ramen aka seaweed ramen. RM9as i ordered ramen, with only extra Rm4, i get gyoza and green tea. good deal!Agedashi Tofu. good.Rm5LAst but not least, Ice cream! there is actually 2 types, local ice cream which cost RM3 per scoop. or you can choose Yokomon Ice cream from Japan ( as below) for RM6 per scoop).6 flavour to choose from. its christmas! so we go for Yokomon ofcourse!Taadaa! Dinner was at The curve, surprisingly the traffic as good! parking was no problem at all. Had a family dinner with alex's family, and his elder brother's gf''s family. so there was 11 of us.

and they choose this place. its my 2nd time at ah tuan ee. first time was at the ss2 branch beside little pairs with uncle foong, aunty ai chin and michelle. mandy was there too right? i still remember uncle foong and me fought over who should pay the bill. we both wanted to pay......until aunty ai chin got mad and scold us.haha. food was good. did not take picture except for the cendol because i was not really close to ivan's gf family, dont want them to think i am rude by taking picture of each dish. anyway the bill came up to about Rm300. their cendol was great.will try their ice kacang next time.

so p/s, both of us did not get any xmas pressie for each other, din see stuff that we really like. well ofcourse there are things we both wanted, just cannot afford. hehe. just being practical you know. no point buying something and not use it.

i go for salmon with rice RM25++and the instructions
beef are imported from australia with original butter and sauce, freshly ground pepper and serve with either honey brown sauce or garlic soy sauce as below. i would say the food was ok. its abit like high class fast food. but i will not have it frequently, too costly for lunch.and oh, if you are going for the garlic soy sauce, don't pour too much! its salty.

oh, and i made an mistake ordering, thought of having " tang yuen" since it is Winter Solstice fest today, but did not realize this tang yuen was fried ones.

Ip Man, Xmas Pressie and Yogurt Berry

got a call from xpeace last nite. he say want to pass something to me this afternoon......tadaaa! xmas pressie for me and alex! my first xmas pressie this year! Thanks alot! it was nicely wrap , got paper bag and cute teddy!awwwwwww...........guess what is inside?

taadaa! now i can have my tea in this. and in return, i got xpeace something aswell. so sweet of him no?

and finally the film that we've been waiting for is here! Ip Man, Donnie never disappoint us. from SPL and Flash point, and not Ip Man........this is a must watch guys........go to the movie or buy original. support ya!

after movie it was about 9.40pm already , so we had a quick desert at Yogurt Berry.....not bad, quite generous on their fruits portion, it cost extra RM1.05 for kiwi and the portion was satisfying.

was at Q4 workshop last week, did not blog until now as i was sick, well,still not fully recover yet but in better mood today. so day 1 at The Curve, did not took any workshop pic, only Xmas Deco and food . hehe.

was using maxis broadband all these while but connection was really slow at where i stay and no point paying RM100 a month for such service. so we decided to switch to P1 Wimax! Newly in town. and man.......it was fast!

Sick

been sick since yesterday. basically it started with me having very mild flu ( got it from alex father), then alex got it from me and i am fine. and when alex is getting worst, i got it too!

my average normal resting heart rate ( i measure it about 5 minutes after i woke up daily)was about 55-65bpm. But these 2 days my resting heart rate is 80! and by noon after lunch goes up to about 90bpm.doctor says when my fever subside, my HR will be back to normal. my body is burning hot! throat is on fire and sneezing. muscle fatigue and sore. Doctor say to rest 3 days. both of us. if still not well, will test for dengue next week. doctor says cannot test now, need to be at least 5/6 days after fever. i read an article this morning about resting heart rate, once you know your average resting HR, lets says is 70bpm(beat per minute), if on a certain day you resting HR is 5 beat more than usual, you can still carry on daily activity/exercise. but if your resting HR is 10-15 bpm more than usual, then your body need rest. so whats your resting HR?

so finger cross. argh......i do not like being sick. no one does right? cannot do classes. well, i have not been sick like this for the pass 1 year. even if i am not feeling well, it will be very mild sore throat and flu, and it heals 1 day later.which reminds me of aunty june from my previous post, ever since she became a vegan, she has not been to the doctor for the pass 20 years! so guess my body is asking me to rest for now and i will eat more veg to make my body more alkali.
